Support Tina & Mike's Healing Journey

Hello, I'm doing this anonymously because I know Tina & Mike would never reach out to any of us and ask for help. Over the course of the next year, they are going to need lots of help and support.

On Easter Sunday, Tina took Mike to OSF in Peoria, IL, for what they thought was a blood clot. It turns out they found that Mike had a mass in the left atrium of his heart, and his main artery to his heart was 70 percent blocked. He was admitted to the hospital. On April 28th, Mike underwent major open-heart surgery. He was supposed to come off the vent around 6 to 8 hours after surgery, but due to some underlying lung issues, that didn't happen. Mike finally was strong enough to come off the vent on April 30th. Due to all of these things, he has been left very weak and has a long road to recovery. Mike was their only source of income because Tina just had her right hip replaced 5 weeks ago and still has another 4 weeks of therapy to do. She is bound and determined to get a job to take care of them both, but if we could just give her a little help so she could at least get Mike home and then worry about going to work, it would be great. Unfortunately, because Mike has a CDL, I learned from Tina that DOT will suspend his CDL endorsement for at least a year. Mike is going to have lots of doctor visits and medication to pay for as well. Tina hasn't left his side since he has been at OSF and doesn't plan to until he is home and doing well, which leaves her with food and gas expenses. Tina and Mike, for as long as I can remember, have never asked anyone for anything and have always helped out where they could. Now it's our turn to give a little back to them.
