Yesterday’s flash flood in Nepal was devastating. Within minutes, Timure, the village hit first by the wall of water, mud, and ice, was swept away and 90% of people are feared dead. This is deeply personal to me because my daughter-in-law is from Timure, and I have spent much time there. Luckily, most of my family was safe in Kathmandu, and the dad was able to reach higher ground in time. However, my daughter-in-law’s sister and her husband drowned, and the trauma, pain, and uncertainty in the community is unimaginable.
