Hi, my name is Anna Basa, and I am the proud mother of my son, Tim, the sweetest, laziest cat who is currently in critical condition. On Wednesday, July 16th at 12 AM, I noticed Tim was struggling to breathe. I rushed him to the emergency vet, where he was immediately hospitalized for intensive care. They found fluid in his lungs and also found internal bleeding in his nostrils.

The cause of his sudden respiratory distress is still unknown. He was admitted in an oxygen tank and only recently has been able to breathe on his own. He was diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia and monitored in the intensive care unit, he still remains there. His response to initial treatment was positive, but shortly before his planned discharge today, July 17th, he suffered anaphylactic shock due to one of the medications he was given. Upon further testing, it was found that he had turned anemic and now requires an immediate blood transfusion, and continue to receive treatment at the hospital for further monitoring. Because of the severity of his ailments and the extensions of his stay at the vet, the medical bill has reached has already reached $10,000. As things stand, the doctors still cannot say if he is able to be discharged, but the price of his treatment continues to grow.
