ALL proceeds go to Dad's memorial & medical bills
My name is Amy and I'm Tim's eldest daughter.
Dad was taken by ambulance to the ER due to a fall because he had lost all strength and muscle movement. In the ER, he began to slowly decline not only physically, but cognitively. It came to the point where his kidneys and liver were in decline. His white blood cell count started rising. It turned out that he had nodules in his lungs, though he's never smoked a day in his life, but this wasn't the culprit. He was eventually sent to ICU and diagnosed with MRSA, likely due to a black widow bite that just escalated all his conditions.
As of right now, he still lays in bed in ICU struggling and fighting. The bacteria is so bad that it is surrounding his joints and pacemaker, which needs to be taken out, but his platelet count is so low no one will touch him. He's too high risk for hemorrhaging. His kidneys are failing. His insurance is declining out-of-network hospitals that may have a specialist who can take out the pacemaker. Loma Linda refuses to take him and refuses to work on him. Taking out his pacemaker might actually give him a shot, although we still don't know that for sure. But, as the doctor said, it is worth a shot.
In conclusion, he lays in bed in ICU fighting so hard because if you know my dad, you know he wants another glass of wine.
I will update this GoFundMe when we have updates.
11/01/24: Still waiting. UCSD might actually take him (MD probably appealed the insurance)
11/03/24
Dad has been transferred to UCSD a fantastic hospital where he's getting around the clock care with a very large team of doctors.
11/04/24 6am
MD called this morning. His lung is partially collapsed. The dialysis isn't keeping up. He may have 24 hours
730am
They're going to try to keep him going until we get there. They've thrown every med at him they can. His blood pressure is low, even with pressers, and his organs aren't getting enough oxygen. They can't do CPR/chest compressions as this will break his ribs causing even more complications, a lot more pain, if he even survives the CPR.
We're heading there hoping he won't be alone during his transition

I know I haven't updated the GoFundMe but we have definitely been in the hardest times!
Dad passed away on Monday, November 4th at 11:03 a.m. at Jacobs Medical Center at UCSD. His body just couldn't fight anymore. His family was with him till the end. We made sure he wasn't alone. I held his hand and played his favorite music, Adagio for strings the Lenny version, Somewhere in Time Theme for Paganini, Joni Mitchell (Both Sides Now), Amadeus soundtrack (of course).
He is so loved. Thank you for fighting so hard, Daddy.
We ALL love you so very much and will miss endlessly.
*** As of right now we're asking for help for his medical expenses and Memorial. We would be ever so grateful for any contribution you can make***
