First, we would like to thank you for taking time to read Tim's story. We appreciate any positive thoughts you can send his way.
On June 6, 2024, four days after Tim's 43rd birthday, he was in a car accident while at work. While being treated for his injuries at the emergency room, they discovered a mass in his right lung. This ultimately led to the diagnosis of stage four non-small cell carcinoma, in other words, lung cancer. Unfortunately, the cancer has metastasized (or spread) to his brain and abdomen. He is currently undergoing radiation for the lesions on his brain and immunotherapy and chemotherapy for the mass in his lung. He has quite the long fight ahead of him as the mass measures about the size of a grapefruit.
Tim has been a mailman for the United States Postal Service for just over 10 years. He absolutely LOVES his job. Earlier this year, he won Eastern Regional Hero of the Year Award for saving an elderly disabled customer and her dog from a house fire. He had the honor of being invited to Washington DC, all expenses paid, to receive the award. You can watch his story on the NALC’s YouTube page. He was also featured in the Buffalo news for his heroics. He is currently applying for FMLA but this is unpaid job protection. He is unable to return to work due to treatments, doctor visits, and some severe symptoms he is experiencing.
Tim has been married for 13 years to his wife Lauren and they have four wonderful children. Three teenage boys and one toddler princess. They are asking for any help you can provide. As of right now, they are not receiving any financial help from government or state resources. Anything that you can give will be put towards bills, food and gas to make it to treatments, along with other basic living expenses.
His plan is to “kick cancers a**" and get back to enjoying family time and to the job he loves.
If you have met Tim, you know he is one a kind in all the best ways possible. He is invaluable to his friends and family. Being able to take some financial pressure off of him will enable the family to just enjoy their time together during this hard time. Please share his story with your friends and family.
