Our family is asking for help during one of the most difficult and heartbreaking times we have ever experienced.

My husband, Timothy, is only 27 years old and is fighting for his life. Timothy has end-stage sarcoidosis, a serious disease that has severely damaged his lungs and left him critically ill.

He is currently hospitalized and requires ECMO and advanced life support to help keep his heart and lungs functioning. Despite everything he has been through, Timothy continues to fight.

His medical team has referred him to Baylor St. Luke’s in Houston, Texas, where he has been accepted for evaluation for a potential lifesaving lung transplant. Getting him safely to Houston is the next critical step in his journey.

Because of how sick Timothy is, he cannot simply travel by car or commercial airplane. He requires specialized medical air transportation with the ability to continue his life-support needs during the flight.

The transportation has been approved, but insurance is taking more time than we have to work through the remaining coverage arrangements. With Timothy’s condition, we are terrified that waiting on insurance could cost him valuable time.

That is why we are reaching out for help.

Our goal is to raise enough money to help cover the cost of Timothy’s specialized medical transportation from New Orleans to Houston, along with the immediate expenses that come with getting him to the transplant center.
