Timmy O'Brien dedicated 13 years of his life to serving and protecting others in the 61 and 67 Precinct, eventually receiving his Detective shield from the Intelligence Division. After suffering a serious injury while on duty, he faced a long journey, undergoing multiple surgeries and eventually passing away following a very difficult battle stemming from those injuries.

Beyond his service, Timmy was a very proud father to 4 boys (ages 10 to 19), a devoted husband and a loving son and brother. He was the kind of person who showed up for his family, his friends and his community with loyalty, compassion and strength. His family is now facing an unimaginable loss.

As his family navigates this heartbreaking time, we are asking for support to help ease the financial burden and provide stability in the months ahead for his wife and 4 boys. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference for his family.
