"Tim Dukes vs. The Fast and Furious" Motorcycle Accident
Donation protected
Hey Y'all,
We are starting this GoFundMe for our good friend, Tim ("Timbo") Dukes, who could use our help. Tim and the other Dukes boys are avid motorcyclists. While out riding with his brothers and nephew on what was to be a four-day camping trip from Tennessee through north Georgia, there was an accident and Tim was forced to lay down his Harley to keep from running into and potentially fatally injuring the others.
The incident occurred due to the careless actions of a couple of road-raging drivers who forced all the motorcyclists to stop in their tracks to avoid colliding with the cars. Timbo’s Harley was not able to stop so quickly, and he saw that his momentum was about to carry him into the three other riders who had managed to stop their bikes ahead of him. He made the split second decision to lay his bike down to avoid injuring his loved ones. He ended up sliding over 100 feet. The accident broke Tim's scapula (and trashed the Harley) which may require surgery and means he will be unable to work for several months.
Tim, his brothers and their families are passionate supporters of recreational motorcycling. They sponsor several family-friendly events, including the Cinco de Bikeo weekend every May. They are also lifelong whitewater enthusiasts who have inspired and helped teach countless young people about the joys of river running. Tim was an Eagle Scout and is a valued member of his community.
The most pressing concern for the family is meeting the monthly mortgage payments and other bills for the house he shares with his wife, Trish, their two girls, Ava and Eva (now 9 yrs old) and Trish’s son, Matthew. Covering any medical expenses not met by their insurance company is also a major concern.
If you already know Tim, you know what a kind, thoughtful, generous and selfless person he is. This fund-raiser is important to us because it's our way of letting him know that he is supported and loved and that we'd like to give him a well-deserved hand during this challenging time.
Thank you for your help! We would be grateful for anything you can give, including your prayers!
