This week has been life-altering to say the least. For a month, I waited to get to a doctor and I thought it was for high cortisol and women's issues. Last Thursday, I got so weak I couldn’t get up or walk around. I made Eric bring me to Little Rock Big Baptist; it’s who I know and trust. When I got here, they told me I was septic and 2 points away from ICU. They took me immediately to get scanned in CT (3 times), echo on heart (3 times), and chest X-rays. The next morning, the bluntest doctor I’ve ever had came in and said, "I’m not going to sugarcoat it, you have cancer." Then I had a bone marrow scan and biopsy with a few things cut out. Then I’ve had fluid around my heart and have already had my first round of chemotherapy. I’m making this because my spirits are very high and was coming to ask for three things: first and foremost, pray. Second, I’m going to do GoFundMe just with the objective to raise enough to pay for chemo each time I go so they can do it. I make too much for assistance and didn’t have health insurance. I have gone through my mind over and over if this is a good idea, and I have had two friends say, "You help everyone; there should be no shame in your game." I prayed about it and I think they are right. If you have a cough over 2 weeks or you go 4 times to the doctor and they do the basics, check and see what could be wrong.
"Be your brother's keeper" means taking responsibility for the well-being of others by offering care, support, and protection. Originating from Genesis 4:9
