Support Tim Sparks' Battle Against Cancer

Hello friends and family,
In November of 2024, our dad, Tim Sparks, was having some unexpected health issues which eventually landed him at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. While at Strong, we received the news that no family ever wants to hear: Dad has Cholangiocarcinoma, or cancer of the bile duct. After dealing with multiple infections which kept Dad in the hospital more than he was home, his care team has decided on a treatment plan and, hopefully, a path forward to an eventual cure.
In the near future, Tim will have a hepatectomy where surgeons will remove a significant portion of the liver (and hopefully all of the cancer with it). But before the surgery can be done, he must undergo a Portal Vein Embolization (PVE) to help increase the size and function of the tissue that will be left behind. In the meantime, and to keep the cancer in check, Tim will begin a chemotherapy regimen until his team decides he is ready for the surgery.
All of Tim’s treatment is taking place at the Wilmot Cancer Institute in Rochester, NY, which results in multiple trips back and forth from home each week along with various overnight stays for our mom, Patty, and one or more of my siblings. We have started this fundraiser to help cover the cost of travel, treatment, and unforeseen expenses that Tim and Patty are bound to encounter along the way. We, as a family, are beyond grateful for any financial assistance you can provide as Tim continues to fight this awful disease.
Thank you so much,
Tim, Patty, Sean, Terry, Stephanie, and Tom
