Help Support Tim Nielsen and his fight against End Stage Renal Failure

Tim Nielsen is the proud, loving father of two teenagers, one in college and one in high school, who he loves spending time with, cooking for and especially bragging about them. He’s also a brother to 3 sisters and a friend to countless people. Timmy’s the guy that has probably served you a drink at The Grasshopper Off the Green, where’s he’s worked for the Fitzpatrick Family for over 30 years, the guy you’ve played pool with, golfed with or shared a great conversation about sports. He is also THAT guy when someone needs help he doesn’t hesitate to do whatever he can.

NOW IT’S TIME FOR US TO HELP TIM.

Right now Tim is facing an incredibly difficult medical battle, In the spring of 2024 Tim started to rapidly lose weight and suffered from extreme fatigue and feeling unwell. After some tests his doctor admitted him immediately to the hospital on June 7th and on June 8th received the life changing diagnosis of End Stage Renal Failure (stage 5) and started dialysis that day. His kidney disease is caused from long term uncontrollable high blood pressure. He is registered on the National Kidney Transplant list and until he receives a kidney, dialysis is what is keeping him alive. This disease and his dialysis treatments are not easy. Tim spends 4-5 days a week, 7-9 hours a day receiving his treatments at home. There are countless side effects and complications.

In September of 2025 he suffered a stroke and had another hospitalization in October. But through all of these ups and downs and many days of fatigue and not feeling well, he will never complain and always has a positive attitude. As you can imagine, the medical bills involved with dialysis treatments on top of a few hospital admissions, have been overwhelming. There are a lot of costs that insurance doesn’t cover. Deductibles, co-pays, medication costs, dialysis supply costs, daily living expenses for him and his children, along with loss of wages from hospital stays and times when he is just too sick to go to work.

We are reaching out now to Tim’s friends to help him. It’s not easy to ask for help and he is the last person to admit he needs it and is uncomfortable asking for it. We know that this diagnosis has not been easy for him… financially, medically and mentally and that is why we have created this page. We are asking for your support during this challenging time. Every donation, no matter the amount, will help to ease the burden on Tim and give him the support to continue fighting this horrible disease until he receives a kidney.

We appreciate the time you have taken to read Tim’s story, and thank you for your kindness, generosity and prayers for Tim and his children.

Please consider sharing this page so many more people can learn about Tim’s story.
