Anyone who knows the Higgins family knows they would give the shirt off their back to anyone in need. It’s our turn to help them.

Tim Higgins is a 38-year-old father of three beautiful children and a hardworking husband. He is a detective for the Schenectady Police Department. He survived Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma once already and now twice, but is undergoing a stem cell transplant in hopes of a healthier future. Unfortunately, due to the severity of Tim’s case, local doctors were unable to provide the level of care and needs of his condition, leading to a transfer of care to Memorial Sloan Kettering in NYC. This time has been much more difficult as he faced challenges of obtaining a diagnosis and dealing with a rare disease known as HLH. Tim has been out of work for some time and the stem cell transplant will keep him out of work for a longer period of time, in a more volatile economy. The family has amassed bills from multiple stays in NYC during a time when doctors couldn’t understand how Tim survived that long without intervention.
