Support Tim Bird's Road to Recovery

Hey everyone, I am setting up this GoFundMe to help Tim Bird and his family in this hard time! On Sunday, Tim Bird wrecked a dirt bike going at a pretty high rate of speed. He hit the back of a truck and flipped in the air. He had a traumatic aortic injury. He had an aortic tear and was essentially bleeding out through his heart. The doctors worked on him for 6 hours and almost lost him once, but he is here and will recover by God's amazing grace. He has a drain to remove the blood from the chest cavity because the fluids were pushing his heart forward, but he really is the toughest man I’ve ever met, and he’s recovering pretty well. He broke his ribs, punctured a lung, broke both of his femurs, and has 2 broken bones in the bottom part of his left leg. He’ll have a metal cage-like thing around his aorta for life. They had to make sure his heart was stable for surgery. This afternoon, he went in and had surgery on his legs. While in there, he had to be given blood and now has a drain in his legs as well! He had a blood transfusion in the middle of the night last night. He’s mostly sedated but will respond to commands and write words in my hands with his finger. He has no brain injury, no spinal injuries, and no neck injuries. Hopefully, we’ll get the breathing tube removed tomorrow because he seems incredibly uncomfortable with it and is breathing over the machine.

A little of what the coming weeks and months look like: Tim will remain in ICU for the next 3-5 days approximately. After that, he will step down and remain in the hospital for an unknown amount of time! From there, he will be taken to a treatment center/nursing home to receive physical therapy and work on getting better! During this time, Rachael will be with him, unable to work, and Tim will be out of work for a long time! He is the main breadwinner, and they still have 4 children to take care of and bills on top of hospital bills! I am asking for everyone to please share this.
