Hello everyone,

I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart to share the story of my daughter, Tiffany, who is currently fighting for her life. On a fateful evening in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Tiffany, a vibrant 26-year-old, was discovered unresponsive in a tub of water. Thanks to the swift actions of those around her, Tiffany's heart began to beat again, but she struggled to breathe and was placed on a ventilator.

The medical team initially diagnosed her with aspirated pneumonia, but further tests revealed that she had aspirated water into her lungs, leading to a serious lung infection. Additionally, Tiffany has developed infections in other parts of her body, including a wound on her buttock. The lack of oxygen during the incident has resulted in damage to two small areas of her brain.

After days of uncertainty and fear, there is a glimmer of hope as Tiffany has been able to breathe on her own after being taken off the ventilator. However, the road to recovery is long and uncertain. We are eagerly awaiting the assessments of physical therapists, speech therapists, and occupational therapists to understand the extent of Tiffany's challenges and the path ahead.

As a family, we are facing immense emotional and financial burdens as we support Tiffany through this critical time. Tiffany's current medical expenses have already reached $41,000, and the expenses for bringing her home using medical transportation are very high.

Both myself and her father will need to continue working during Tiffany's recovery, which means taking time off without pay to be by her side and provide care. I am hoping to raise enough funds to also support myself in staying at the hospital with Tiffany for at least another week, if possible, and then to be there when it is time to bring her home.
