Hello, my name is Tiffany and I have congestive heart failure. I was first diagnosed at 23/24 and always tried to stay upbeat about it. I pretty much always have a smile, love to be the life of the party, and keep a good joke lined up. I never tried to use my disease as a crutch, I tried to counteract it by losing weight, not drinking or smoking, became a vegetarian for a while; but as time has moved forward even with our positive efforts we ended up in this place which is End Stage Heart Failure. It has definitely begun to strip me of the things I love. I was no longer able to work as a bartender, I cannot walk very far without sitting down, and just anything that required too much physical activity. I am currently hospitalized and just now learning my new diagnosis. It was noticed once my kidneys started to try to shut down because my heart couldn’t push enough blood to them. In learning the new diagnosis I’ve had to face some hard realities and make hard decisions;my chance at a longer life is an LVAD or a heart transplant. Unfortunately, I’m not a candidate for a transplant at this time. So my shot here is an LVAD; it is a pump that will go in the left bottom chamber of my heart and help the other chambers get blood throughout my body. It is an open-heart surgery and I will be out of work and bedridden for a while. I have cried , screamed and begged God to save me. I have had to come to terms with the diagnosis in order to continue to the next steps that would be best for me and my family. If you find it in your heart to donate, I will first thank you and also let you know it will be used to just cover my housing, travel, and general living expenses. For those who have been there, I thank you so much for your support. I want to be able to stay around to be here with my sisters and make it past my 30th birthday . Even if you cannot donate please share and pray for my family.
