Help the Beasleys with Tierney's Medical and Living Expenses

Zachary and Nicole Beasley are organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Tierney Wesley.

On September 29, Tierney was attending church with her family when she experienced a medical emergency. She was admitted to the Texas Health Hospital in Dallas having suffered multiple debilitating seizures caused by a neurological condition. These seizures cause her to suffer with a severe case of temporary paralysis of the lower extremities known as Todd’s paralysis. After several weeks in the hospital and physical therapy to regain her strength, Tierney was released from medical care and returned to work a few weeks later. Unfortunately, just four days after her return to work, Tierney suffered a second, more serious set of seizures. She was readmitted to the hospital at the beginning of November and has experienced a significant setback in her physical strength and mobility. After weeks of physical therapy and occupational therapy, Tierney is currently non-ambulatory and in need of skilled nursing care and ongoing physical and occupational therapy. Though she has medical insurance, the cost of prescriptions and deductibles are unavoidable. Unfortunately, her condition has required her to take an extended, unpaid leave of absence from teaching. As a single mother, she is the sole provider for her family and everyday living expenses are rapidly mounting. In short, Tierney needs our help.

In August, Tierney moved to Dallas to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a teacher. Last year, Tierney served as the reading paraprofessional for a charter school in Birmingham, working with students in Kindergarten to 5th grade through the school's literacy lab. In Spring 2024, Tierney was selected as a Corps member for Teach for America and received her first teaching assignment as an 8th grade English teacher at a STEAM school within the Dallas Independent School District. Tierney is the proud mother of three, beautiful girls: Michaiah, McKinleigh, and Bella. She is a believer in Jesus Christ and a prayer warrior. Tierney is also a member of the Word and Worship Fellowship Church in Dallas, TX under the stewardship of Pastors Richard E. Huff, Jr. and Cher Winkley Huff, Ph.D.

Our hearts go out to Tierney and her sweet family. Please consider making a donation and sharing her story with others. All funds will go to pay for Tierney's medical expenses and the family's living expenses while Tierney recovers on medical leave for the next several months.
