On Sunday, October 20th, 2024, Tiatu Phillip Thompson experienced sudden discomfort and tingling on the entire right side of his body. After seeking emergency care, he learned he had suffered a mild stroke, which left him with significant weakness in his right arm and leg. Further testing revealed the stroke was caused by a blood vessel in his brain exploding—a result of cancerous tumors.

Tiatu Phillip underwent surgery to remove tumors from both hemispheres of his brain, but his journey is far from over. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy and radiation to target the remaining cancer and work toward bringing it into remission.

As a single father to a high school student, Tiatu Phillip's primary concern is his family, and his inability to work has made it difficult to manage both his health and his financial responsibilities. He faces a long road to recovery, including extensive physical therapy to regain strength and mobility in his right side. The financial burden of medical bills, ongoing treatments, and daily living expenses has become overwhelming.
