Hi, my name is Taylor Sapp, and I’m raising funds for my best friend, Tia Banks. She’s a devoted young mom to 2-year-old Justan Junior, a loving wife, and the strongest person I know. With the hope of expanding her family with baby number two, Tia visited her OBGYN for a standard gynecological appointment. The appointment intended to give her the green light to begin trying for a second child, ended up being anything but standard. Within 6 days, Tia was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer called Endodermal Sinus Tumor (aka Yolk Sac Tumor) and underwent emergency surgery to remove what ended up being a 19 cm cancerous mass, along with removing the ovary where the tumor was located. All of this began a mere four days after achieving a lifelong dream of closing on her first home with her family. Now, her world has been turned upside down.

To fight this aggressive cancer, Tia must undergo intensive chemotherapy. While this treatment is essential to save her life, it also comes with heartbreaking consequences—it may take away her ability to have children in the future. As a young mom who dreams of growing her family, this has been a devastating reality to face.

The good news? Fertility preservation through egg retrieval is an option. However, it’s not covered by insurance, and grants are not available for her situation. This procedure is a race against time and costs upwards of $17,000. After closing on their home just four days before the diagnosis, Tia and her family are financially stretched and unable to cover this expense.
