Tiana...Fighting for Her Life: A Single Mom’s Journey to a Kidney Transplant
Tiana Tilton is a single mom battling Stage 5 kidney failure caused by a rare autoimmune disease. Her amazing dad is preparing to donate his kidney to save her life — and she is fighting every day to stay strong for her daughter.
Her Story
In 2020, her life changed when she was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease called ANCA Vasculitis. It attacks the veins and arteries in the body, and sadly, it went undetected for years. By the time doctors discovered it, it had already caused severe and irreversible damage to her kidneys.
Now, she is living with Stage 5 End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), also known as Crescentic Glomerulonephritis — meaning both of her kidneys are failing.
The only way for her to live a healthy, normal life again is through a kidney transplant. Her blood type is B+, which we've learned is pretty rare — just her luck! (She really is one of a kind )
Thankfully, her dad was tested and is a match. They are currently preparing for him to donate one of his kidneys to her — something she is endlessly grateful for. He truly is her hero.
How Life Has Changed
Despite everything, she has tried to keep living life as normally as possible — working, supporting herself, and being there for her beautiful daughter. Every morning, she reminds herself:
“Everything will be okay. I’m not going anywhere. I have to live — I’m going to live.”
But as her disease has progressed, she's had to stop working in the cosmetology career she loves. She has always been independent, but now she's had to rely on her parents for support, which has been incredibly difficult for all of them.
Why She's Asking for Help
As we wait for her dad’s testing and transplant process to be completed, we are asking for financial support to help her cover living expenses, medical costs, and recovery time after surgery.
It’s not easy for her to ask for help — She's always tried to stay strong and self-sufficient — but right now, she needs to lean on others. Anything helps, whether it’s a donation, a prayer, or simply sharing her story.
Tiana's Reason to Keep Fighting
What keeps her going most is her 15-year-old daughter — her heart, her reason, her world. Her daughter needs her mom, and Tiana will keep fighting for her every single day.
If you’re reading this, thank you — truly. Your time, your prayers, your shares, and your support mean more than we can ever express.
With love and gratitude,
The Family and Friends of Tiana Tilton
