Support Tia Maria in Her Husband’s Recovery Journey
Donation protected
Our beloved Aunt Maria (“Tia Maria”) is going through an extremely difficult time… Her husband of 30 years, Manuel Reyes (Tio Manuel), had a medical emergency while home alone a few weeks ago in Santa Maria. After falling and hitting his head, he suffered a brain aneurysm. He laid at home, unable to move or call for help for a couple of days before a family member found him and called 911. Tio Manuel spent some time at Marian Medical Center where he was stabilized, but there was only so much that could be done, even after brain surgery. He was subsequently transported to a rehabilitation center in Baldwin Park, California; he is still unconscious and on a breathing tube, but seems to respond with very minimal movement when he hears family speaking to him and praying by his side. His long-term prognosis is unknown at this point, but there will be an extended period of rehabilitation.
Tia Maria and Tio Manuel are on a fixed income, and they have no children. The medical insurance they do have is insufficient to provide for him to be moved to a more adequate rehabilitation center, and the trips to see him in Baldwin Park are becoming increasingly costly.
Family is looking to raise funds to help our Tia Maria in curbing the cost of her future visitations down to the LA area and also to assist with foreseeable long-term medical expenses. At her age (75 yrs.), she needs any available family member to drive her down to visit him when possible.
The family asks for prayers, first of all, for his complete healing, and peace and strength for her as she navigates through this difficult season. If you are inclined to financially support them, any and all help is greatly appreciated.
God bless you!
