Mi Tia Chata siempre a sido la mas humorosa y risueña de los parientes. De chico ella cuido de mi y mi hermano mientras mamá venía a los Estados Unidos en busca de una vida mejor para nosotros. Tiene una sonrisa cariñosa y una risa contagiosa. Es el tipo de persona que hace que todos se sientan bienvenidos, mostrando su amor a través de los placeres simples de la vida —como hacer gorditas de harina, mi platillo favorito de la infancia! Su calidez y generosidad han impactado mi vida y la de muchos otros.

Mi Tía Chata ha estado luchando contra el cáncer de mama durante más de 2 años, y la batalla no está siendo favorable. Está por intentantar un tratamiento final, además de recibir cuidados paliativos. Este ha sido un momento difícil para nuestra familia, pero también nos ha unido más mientras nos reunimos para apoyarla en lo que parece ser su batalla final contra la enfermedad. Después de esto, lo dejaremos en manos de Dios, pero sé que no se rendirá sin luchar.

Mi meta es que esté lo más cómoda posible para que pueda concentrar su energía en la lucha que viene. Por lo tanto, estoy recaudando fondos para ayudar a cubrir los gastos de cuidados de confort y sus facturas médicas. Cualquier apoyo irá directamente a hacer que su tiempo restante sea lo más tranquilo y cómodo posible.

Se que saber que otros, incluso desconocidos, contribuyeron a su cuidado y bienestar significaría mucho para mi Tía Chata y nuestra familia. ¡Gracias por apoyarle en su battalla y por ayudarnos a honrar su espíritu y el amor que ha brindado a tantos!

Tia Chata has always been a bundle of joy and laughter. She selflessly helped raise me and my brother while mom came to the United States in search of a better life for us. She has a caring smile and infectious laughter. She’s the kind of person who makes everyone feel welcome, often showing her love through the simple joys of life—like making flour gorditas, my favorite dish from childhood and a staple in our hometown of Gomez Palacio Durango. Her warmth and generosity have made an impact on my life and many others.

Tia Chata has been fighting breast cancer for over 2 years, and the fight isn’t going her way. She is attempting one more treatment now as well as palliative care. This has been a difficult time for our family, but it’s also brought us closer together as we gather to support her in what is shaping out to be her final battle with the disease. After this we will leave it in God’s hands, but I know she isn’t going down without a fight.

I want to make sure she is as comfortable as possible so she can focus her energy on the fight ahead. Therefore, I’m raising funds to help cover Tia Chata’s comfort care and medical bills. Any support will go directly toward making her remaining time as peaceful and comfortable as possible.

Knowing that others, even strangers, contributed to her care and well-being would mean the world to Tia Chata and our family. Thank you for helping us honor her spirit and the love she’s given to so many!
