Help Three Extraordinary High School Seniors Go to College
I’ve spent more than 20 years working in education and college counseling through my small business, Macy College Consulting. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to support many students as they navigate the path to college.
This year, I worked pro bono with three remarkable high school seniors who will be heading to college this fall. Uliana, Lianna, and Miami have each shown incredible resilience and determination, maintaining GPAs above 3.75 while facing significant personal and financial challenges. They have been accepted to a wide variety of institutions including: Cornell College, University of Colorado, University of Puget Sound, University of Denver, Purdue University, Bethel College, University of Minnesota, Augsburg College, and many others. Your donation will help them determine what is financially feasible when they commit by May 1, 2026.

Uliana Holiandina – Minneapolis, MN
At 15, Uliana fled war in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine. After months in Poland separated from her father, her family arrived in St. Paul through the U4U program. As the only English speaker, she navigated schools, paperwork, and daily life for her family. Despite these challenges, she thrived—joining the golf team, rising to the top 10 players in St. Paul, taking college courses through PSEO, and volunteering with the Ukrainian American Community Center and the Protez Foundation. She co-founded a leadership program to help newly arrived Ukrainian students. Uliana plans to study psychology and open her own clinic.
Lianna Lemmon – Aurora, CO
Lianna grew up moving between homes, raised by young, working parents. As a first-generation college student, she discovered her calling in forensic science—a path to bring truth and justice to grieving families. At her small high school, she built close relationships with teachers, discovered scholarship and concurrent enrollment opportunities, and turned setbacks into growth. Financial support will allow Lianna to focus fully on her studies and campus involvement, investing in a future scientist committed to making a meaningful difference.
Miami Horn – Salida, CO
Miami grew up moving between Florida and Colorado, facing instability and food insecurity. In 2023, the sudden loss of a close friend and family turmoil forced her to confront grief and isolation—but also revealed the power of community, resilience, and being truly seen. With support, she can pursue social sciences in college, improve lives with equity and empathy, and turn her experiences into meaningful change.
