Thor is an 11-year-old boy who has been my son's best friend for four years. He is currently in end stage renal failure, now on dialysis, and hoping for a kidney transplant. Thor’s mom and step dad have only one vehicle to drive back and forth to Children’s Hospital in Birmingham, but their transmission is starting to fail. The family needs help with travel expenses, bills, and, if possible, enough to get a reliable used vehicle so they can continue getting Thor the care he needs.

My son met Thor in school, and their friendship has brought our families close together. Thor is always laughing and smiling, and he loves coming to our house to eat spaghetti and Alfredo and play with my children. Now, because of his strict diet, he can’t even enjoy his favorite meals or snacks. His mom recently shared that Thor now qualifies for 'Make A Wish,' and my heart sank. This family is truly special—genuine, good-hearted people who are facing an incredibly difficult time.
