Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

I am reaching out to you during a very challenging time for our family. My 8-year-old son, Thomas, who was once a healthy, active boy, has been diagnosed with epilepsy. Our lives changed forever on a Sunday morning when he experienced his first seizure while we were having breakfast. This terrifying experience led to a week-long stay at a children's hospital, where he underwent numerous tests and was put on anti-seizure medication.

After an EEG, it was confirmed that he has focal impaired awareness seizures, which can occur at anytime, without warning. This means he needs constant supervision, especially during the summer, as we need to avoid certain triggers like heat, bright sun, physical activity. Activities he once loved, like bike riding and swimming, are currently off-limits or infrequent while we adjust to his new normal. We will continue to meet with top neurologists to make sure Thomas is getting the best care out there.

I had to stop working immediately to care for him and to ensure he is never left alone. If he has an episode, it has to be timed to determine if and when rescue meds should be given. This sudden change has brought significant financial strain, with bills piling up and the uncertainty of how we will manage day-to-day expenses, including food and transportation for his medical appointments, which are at least an hour away.

I know that everyone is going through their own financial struggle as well so if you are unable to donate, all I ask is for healing prays and thoughts for Thomas. We are asking for your support to help us navigate this difficult time.
