Hi, my name is Thomas Wijaya, and I am writing this with a humble and hopeful heart. Life took an unexpected turn for me recently when my heart valve was deteriorating. Doctors have determined that open-heart surgery is not just a recommendation, but a necessity to save my life.

This news was a shock. For those who know me, I am a strong, energetic, fun, outgoing, funny jackass bartender that is always making people's day and brightening the world.

This diagnosis has put so much of that on hold and has been a sobering reminder of how precious and fragile life can be.

The surgery took place on Nov 1, 2025. The financial burden is overwhelming. The costs for the procedure itself, extensive post-op rehabilitation, specialist consultations, and medications are significant. On top of that, I will be out of work for several months as I recover, creating a significant income gap for me.
