Hello!

My name is Thomas, and I was chosen as one of the 36 Oxfordshire Scouts (Unit 55) to travel to Poland in August 2027 for the 26th World Scout Jamboree.

It's an incredible trip where we will meet with around 40,000 other Scouts in the historic Polish city Gdańsk, and interact with other cultures from across the world. The 2-3 week event promises to be incredibly special, filled with incredible activities from watersports to nature walks and crafts, and I am so excited for this once in a lifetime opportunity, but the road to the Jamboree is going to be intense but rewarding, and any small token of support that I could receive would be appreciated beyond words.

The overall cost of the Jamboree for our Oxfordshire unit is £140,000. Split this equally among 36 scouts and you get an approximate individual cost of 3,210 pounds. To raise this money, I've got a lot planned outside of a GoFundMe page, from Unit-Led sponsored hikes to local market stalls and events - but it won't be enough, which is why any small donation would be incredibly beneficial not just to me but to the entire Oxfordshire Unit.

The funds raised go into many different areas of the Jamboree. There's a few training camps I'll need to attend, then in terms of the actual Jamboree, Travel to Poland is pretty expensive, not to mention the many activity resources, food, and spare equipment needed for the 3 week event.

I'll keep this page updated with how the fundraising is going, and I'm really excited for the next couple of years
