We are reaching out to the music community, friends, family, and kind-hearted people everywhere to support a beloved member of the rock and roll family: Thomas Nordegg, the legendary guitar tech. His musical journey started in Vienna, 1964, when the Beatles took over the planet. Thomas of course wanted to play in a band and saw a great local one in a club. He heard their phenom Gypsy guitar player, Charly Ratzer, who was a star in Austria. Thomas, intimidated by Charly’s talent, decided, “There’s no need for me to play guitar because he’s so good.” And so Thomas became his manager and tech. They went to New York in ’72 and his musical adventures began…..

For five decades, Thomas has been the unsung hero behind the scenes, both as a guitar tech and in production for some of the world's greatest musicians—including:

He's not just a tech; he's a mentor, a master craftsman, innovator, and a truly good friend to many. If you have been to a show for any of the above-mentioned artists and wondered why the guitars sounded so amazing, it was Thomas' wizardry.

What Happened?

Tragically, Thomas was recently involved in a severe accident. While riding his beloved scooter, he was struck by a car at the intersection of Laurel Canyon Blvd and Ventura Blvd near Los Angeles. His scooter, which he just had tuned up and was running better than over, was totalled.

The impact left him with serious injuries, requiring extensive medical attention, and a long road to recovery.

Why he needs your Help

While Thomas has always been the one to fix the impossible, this time, he needs us to help fix his situation.

The costs associated with his accident are piling up.

He is unable to work for the foreseeable future. As a self-employed tech, this means a complete loss of income while facing these expenses.

His goal is also to return back to his homeland of Vienna, Austria. That is where he first heard The Beatles and began his journey into the world of music. The funds would also help with his moving expenses.

We want Thomas to focus 100% of his energy on healing and getting back on his feet—and eventually, back making guitars sing. We don't want the crushing weight of financial stress to hinder his recovery.

My name is Frank Osgood. I have been a friend of Thomas' for many years. He has worked on mine and other friends instruments as well. He was introduced to me by none other than Neil Zlozower. He is the best as you already know. 100% of the money will go to Thomas for; medical, transportation, living, and other expenses caused by someone crashing into him, since he cannot work. They will also help cover moving expenses to go back to Vienna, Austria.
