Support Thomas Family: Uncontrollable circumstances

Hello, my name is Miriam L. Thomas. I reside in Florida and I am a Home Health Aide. I am a daughter, wife, mother of four, and grandmother of eight.

Last year, my husband had several strokes, 90% blockage in his carotid artery, and was hospitalized. Some months ago, he was hospitalized again, had another stroke, and was diagnosed with renal failure. He was put on peritoneal dialysis. During that time, he went out on a leave of absence from his job. My husband's job (Technical Supervisor) paid 100% for two months, 75% for the next two months, and 60% for the next month or so after. Although my husband wasn't well enough to go back to work, he went back last month, but we have fallen so far behind in our bills.

I was able to pay some of the bills but wasn't able to keep up due to the untimely passing of my patient, and other jobs have become scarce. As of today, 12/15/2024, we are $620 behind in our $1,810 rent for this month. Our landlord is giving us till Thursday, 12/19, to pay for it. We are almost two months behind in our car note and insurance.

My mom is also having health issues, so I have been taking her to all of her doctor's appointments. She is also on dialysis and has been hospitalized and is hospitalized as we speak. Our family and friends are also going through their own hardships and are not able to help. We are asking for any and all financial help. Any help will be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
