Support Thomas Edison 5th Graders' Camping Trip

We’re raising $4,000 to reimburse TECA's PTA for some of the costs for our 5th graders to attend an immersive overnight camping excursion with NatureBridge, an environmental science program at the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.

Help Offset the Costs for TECA’s 5th Graders to Explore the Great Outdoors + Support PTA Sponsored Field Trips

Who: 39 Fifth Graders from Thomas Edison Charter Academy (TECA)

Why This Trip Matters

Our 5th graders are thrilled to attend NatureBridge’s immersive environmental science program in one of the Bay Area’s most breathtaking coastal locations. For many students, this will be their first time exploring the natural world beyond city limits. They’ll learn about marine ecosystems, hike scenic trails, and build stronger bonds with classmates. It’s a hands-on adventure that sparks curiosity and fosters a lifelong connection to nature.

Our Goal

Target: $4,000

Already Raised: $600 (from a recent PTA bake sale), $3,870 (scholarship grant)

Use of Funds: Although the PTA has already covered the trip costs upfront, we need contributions to replenish the PTA fund so we can continue providing field trips and enrichment opportunities for all students at TECA.

The cost per student is $355. If your family is able, we encourage you to contribute the cost of your child’s trip—or any amount you can—to support our PTA. Every dollar helps ensure that no student is left behind on future excursions.
