UPDATE: Not the upate we wanted but Thursday Dad and I went to Rice Lake for pathology report and found out he actually has more than one type of cancer. All our high geade and aggressive, bladder also showed positive for detruser muscle invasion. He has a poorly differntiated invasive carcinoma/with lipid (lipod rich) carcinoma and papillary urothelial cancer. At a very minimum he is looking at a surgery to completly remove his bladder and do a a HUGE reconstruct! Rice Lake and Eau Claire hospitals can not treat him so he has been referred to the Unniversity of Minnesota.
I am Thomas Carroll Sr's daughter and am hoping to help my Dad with medical expeneses. As many of you know I did have a fundraiser a few years ago when Tom was on his second cancer and the money raised
humbled my Dad and helped pay for surgery, medications and expenses going to and from appointments.
Many may not be aware but Tom is now ready to fight his THIRD cancer in three years. This time he has bladder cancer.
So let me start his story from the beginning, three years ago he had advanced prostate cancer and underwent a prosectomy only to one year later be diagnosed with small cell lung cancer where he had a portion of his lung removed, 6 months after that he had major blockage in his heart and had some stents added to his collection, this winter he had a knee replacement, and now bladder cancer. He has been home from the Hospital for a few short days and already his supplemental insurance has denied his Hospital stay.
Yes, he has Medicare but it does leave ALOT of out of pocket!
During this very hard three years he also lost his only Son and I want him to have a stress free mind so he can just focus on getting better and hopefully beating cancer for a THIRD time.
If you know my Dad you also know he will be so upset that I am doing this. But, these are the catastrophies that cost our elderly everything they have worked so hard for!
So you know anything helps!
Last week he had 3 ER visits, a Hospital stay, a surgery and chemo
Anything helps even if you just drop by and visit him giving your time and support is also important. I feel he is tired and ready to give up and this is optimal time for him to know he is cared about!
