In the early hours of May 1st, 2024, while defending the Palestine Solidarity Encampment from a violent group that showed up harass and brutalize my peers and me, my hand was smashed by an aggressor.

My middle metacarpal was shattered and my pinky was lacerated through the nerve.

The recovery process has been much more complicated than I expected. I’ve dealt with several surgeries, each time missing weeks or months of work and school to recover. I have had to put an indefinite hold on several substantial sources of income. I have lasting trauma and mobility issues and am in almost constant pain in my right arm; even minor activities like writing and carrying things, and constant use at work and school only exacerbate this issue.

I’ve felt that I owe it to the world to handle this on my own, but it's time to admit that I need help.

While a lawsuit is ongoing (peoplevucla.com), this process will take several years. I'm currently in significant debt, working as much as I can, going to school full time, and am scheduled for a 4th hand surgery in June. The goal of this fundraiser will not come close to paying off all of my expenses, I am only looking to make a dent so that I can alleviate some of the stress.
