Support This Puppy’s Recovery

Donation protected
Yesterday morning, I found this sweet puppy who had been hit by a car on the side of the road at Lamar/Seattle. Thankfully, a woman named Candace had already stopped to help. We got him into my car, and I took him to the vet where he is now receiving care. Despite looking really rough when I found him, he miraculously has no broken bones. Unfortunately, he does have a partially collapsed lung and several lacerations on his legs. He's got a long road ahead of him, but we are hopeful that he will make a full recovery.

He was not microchipped or wearing a collar, but I've posted his photos across Nextdoor, Ring, and the Lost and Found Pets of Memphis Facebook group. We got a lead on an owner from the Ring app, so we're hoping they will go to the vet's office and claim him. That said, we have no idea if his family will be able to afford his care, hence this GoFundMe. If he's not claimed, my husband and I are able to foster him until we find his forever home. Your contribution to this fundraiser will ensure that his care is fully covered regardless of where he lands once he is released from the animal hospital.

I will never understand how someone could hit a dog and continue driving, but this baby allowed me to see the kindness of strangers like Candace, Carol (the woman who consoled me at the vet's office), the veterinary staff who are ensuring this baby receives the best care, and each of you who have supported this GoFundMe. I cannot thank you all enough.
