Support The Mortensen Family's Stage 4 Cancer Battle
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
I’m writing this as a close friend of a wonderful family who is currently going through something that no one should ever have to face. I’m creating this GoFundMe for them because asking for help is not in their nature.
Just two weeks ago, Dan Mortensen was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic pancreatobiliary adenocarcinoma. The news came out of nowhere and has turned their world upside down. Dan started chemotherapy on Monday, June 9th and the road ahead is uncertain and incredibly difficult.
Dan and Lauren have three young daughters—Cecily (9), Cosette (7), and Lottie (3)—who adore their dad. Their lives have been upended overnight but, through it all, this family is trying to hold on to love, routine, and moments of joy.
Because of his diagnosis, Dan is no longer able to work, and the financial impact is already immense. The emotional weight is even heavier. This GoFundMe is a small way to try and ease the burden and to allow them the space to focus on what truly matters: time together.
All funds raised will go toward:
• Medical expenses and treatments not covered by insurance
• Travel to and from appointments
• Day-to-day living expenses
• Support for their three girls as they navigate this unimaginable time
• Creating meaningful memories and maintaining a sense of normalcy with the time they have left
This is about giving them breathing room. It’s about letting them spend their energy on love, not bills. And it’s about surrounding them with a community of people who care—even if they haven’t asked for it.

If you can give, thank you. If not, please consider sharing this page. Every little bit helps, and I know it will mean more than they can ever express.
With gratitude,
Friends of Dan and Lauren Mortensen
