Thirupathi, a devoted husband and father from Salem, India, has always worked hard to provide for his family through his modest scrap business. On June 4th, 2025, his life changed dramatically when he suffered a sudden stroke, leading to a loss of consciousness and an emergency hospital admission. Since then, Thirupathi has endured six surgeries and has spent months in and out of the ICU, with his wife Mahalakshmi by his side every step of the way. Their nine-year-old daughter, Kayal, has been shuttling between friends and relatives just to keep up with her schooling, as Mahalakshmi has had to leave her job as a lecturer to care for her husband full-time.
The family has already spent their savings and borrowed heavily, with no medical insurance to help cover the overwhelming hospital bills. The financial and emotional toll has been immense. Thirupathi now faces a long road to recovery, requiring ongoing hospital care, home nursing, and rehabilitation. Mahalakshmi is searching for a full-time nurse to help manage his needs at home, but the costs continue to mount.
As Mahalakshmi’s friend for over 30 years, I have witnessed her strength and resilience, but the challenges are more than any family should face alone. Thirupathi is known for his kindness and humility, always putting his family first. Your support will help cover his ongoing medical expenses, provide the care he needs at home, and give Kayal and Mahalakshmi hope for the future. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a real difference in their lives.
