Earl is a person of deep faith, and a lifelong musician, artist, and beloved figure in the world of funk, soul, blues, and jazz. Throughout his life, Earl shared stages and friendships with some of the most iconic figures in music—James Brown, Little Richard, and countless other legends from the 1960s onward. He’s had a front-row seat to history, but like many artists of his time, the rewards of that history haven’t always materialized in ways that reflect his incredible talent and contributions.

Now, at an advanced age and facing health struggles, including a recent prostate cancer diagnosis, Earl finds himself in a difficult situation. He lives in a modest rented room in a tenement building, facing daily challenges as he navigates the realities of aging, illness, and financial hardship. His health has been declining, and his ability to work as a security guard—his main source of income for the past few years—has become increasingly limited.

What Earl Needs:

While Earl continues to be a passionate musician at heart, he needs some basic support to get by in his everyday life. Here’s how your donations will help:

Clear Up Debts: Earl has accumulated some debt over the years (less than half of the goal) that has become difficult to manage, especially with his health challenges and limited income.

New Bed and Bedding: Earl’s current bed is old and uncomfortable, and he needs a new one to improve his quality of rest and health.

Shelving and Clothing: Simple essentials like shelving to organize his space and new clothes for warmth and comfort are necessary as he’s been wearing the same things for years.

Savings Account: Earl has never had the opportunity to build a savings account. This fund will help give him a small cushion to relieve some of the financial pressure he’s been under.

Health and Wellness: While he’s still a fighter and passionate about life, his health situation needs attention, and your support could help him seek the medical care and treatment he deserves, especially transportation to treatments.

Earl is a kind soul with a big heart. He’s one of the most genuine, humble, and down-to-earth people you could ever meet. Even in the face of hardship, he remains a beacon of joy, sharing his music and his stories with anyone who will listen.
