Support Therin's Life-Changing Surgery

Hello everyone,

My name is Therin, and I'm making this page with a humble heart and hopeful spirit. Since childhood, I have been battling the debilitating effects of severe scoliosis. Over the last several years, the pain has become extreme, making everyday tasks a struggle and hindering my career as a performer.

My condition includes a 50-degree thoracic curve and a 34-degree lumbar curve. The curve in my spine has now reached a point where it is pushing on my lung, making it difficult to breathe, especially when I am singing and dancing. The pain and respiratory issues have made it very difficult to participate in dance classes and auditions. The curve has become so physically noticeable that casting directors have mentioned it during auditions, which has severely impacted my confidence and made me worry about my future in the industry.

Why I Need Your Help

I have decided to undergo Anterior Scoliosis Correction surgery (ASC) AKA Vertebral Body Tethering (VBT). I am grateful to be working with one of the leading scoliosis and spinal curvature surgeons in NYC to complete this procedure. My surgery is scheduled for the end of August, 2024.

This upcoming surgery is my last hope for relief, but it comes with overwhelming financial burdens. As I prepare for this life-changing procedure, I am faced with not only the high costs of the surgery itself but also the expenses that will follow during my long and difficult recovery.
