Dear family, friends and all others that I am blessed to have read my story.
You may have heard about my story in regards to my extremely horrible accident that happen on February 8, 2025, Superbowl Sunday. I was on my way to the local market to grab a couple of extra items for dinner. We live in a canyon with one way roads, that are windy roads with cliffs on the edges of the road.
When I was coming out of the canyon that I live in, driving on a downward sloped hill, I felt a big jolt on the back passenger side of the car, as well as a big bang sound. I tried to push on my brakes to stop on the side of the road and the breaks went straight to the floor. I was terrified. I then pulled the emergency break to see if that would help me stop my car. Unfortunately, that did not work either. I was sure what to do at that point, but try hard to not to crash into other cars passing at the upcoming stop sign leading to the main road. I tried to steer my car to a grassy area, I was not able to turn the wheel of the car. I was so scared, I could see that I was heading straight towards huge cement barriers and could see the cross traffic. There was no way to stop, slow down, or turn my vehicle in any direction, I was told that I had reached over 65 miles per hour. At this moment I thought these were my last moments, I had a split second before impact and in my head said a prayer.
I was sent to an emergency hospital, over 2 hours away from my home. I was touch and go for a couple of weeks. the doctors were not sure if I was gonna make it. I don't remember the first 8 weeks at the first hospital. I was very scared when realizing what had happened to me and what the future would hold.
My fiance was the person that told me about the accident and my injuries. He had stated that I had a very long road ahead of me, and he will be there every step of the way to help me in my recovery. My Injuries include, broken left arm (surgery/metal added) right ankle and leg knee down ( surgery/ metal added), pelvis broken in 3 places (surgery/metal added) bottom 3 vertebra, head injury, hematoma and brain bleed, lungs collapsed/internal bleed.,various other injuries that were stitched, stapled or bandaged all over my body. Needless to say, I am very lucky to alive, I am very blessed.
I have been in and out of the hospital several times in the last 8 months. The last one was pretty bad, my bone in my leg got infected from the metal in my leg. The infection was bad and they were not sure if they were going to be able to save it. They took out the old metal support, and put in a long screw from knee to the ankle.
I am home now and still in a wheelchair not sure if i will be able to walk again, and if I do most likely be very hard. My brain injury has really affected my thought process. All of my limb were damaged and they a are not 100%. The PAIN is unbearable. It is hard to sleep more than a couple of hours at a time without waking up in massive pain each and every night. I have at home care that come and take care of
me a few days a week.
I am now in a position that I really need some help financially, not just because of this accident. However, my daughter passed away a few years ago, and both of these situations have left me in a position that depleted my entire savings account. I am blessed that my fiance has been here taking care of me the best that he can with everything and has been very supportive.
Thank you to everyone that has read my story, from the bottom of my heart words can not express how grateful that I am that you are able to help me with my medical bills, home healthcare, Health ins and basic needs to survive.
Thank you to everyone for all you have done to help me.
Theresa
Every dollar you donate is blessing for me. xoxo
