Hi friends,
This is a vulnerable thing for me to share, but I’ve always believed in being open and honest with my community.
Recently, my doctors discovered significant damage in one of the vertebrae in my neck. I’ll be having surgery to remove the bone, replace it with titanium, and biopsy it to determine whether the damage is cancer-related. After I recover from that procedure, I’ll begin treatment for my breast cancer as well.
It’s a lot to take in — but I’m facing it with the same strength and stubborn hope I bring to everything in life.
As many of you know, I’m a self-employed jeweler and lapidary artist. Every piece I make is crafted by my own two hands — cutting turquoise, shaping silver, building each design at my bench. When I’m not physically able to work, my little studio goes quiet too.
Between surgery and treatment, I’ll likely be away from the bench for several months while I heal.
Creating has always been my medicine, and I plan to do what I can along the way. But some dear friends encouraged me to allow others to help carry me through this chapter, the same way my work and spirit boxes have hopefully brought beauty and comfort to others.
If you feel moved to support me — through a donation, sharing this page, or continuing to shop my handmade pieces — it truly means the world. Every bit helps me focus on healing and getting back to doing what I love most: creating beautiful things for this community.
Thank you for walking beside me. I’m grateful beyond words.
With love,
Theresa
