If you know Theresa Diaz, you know how genuine and selfless she is. A smile on her face and ready to make you laugh with her jokes at all times. Theresa is always the first there for friends and family, and now it's our turn to be there for her.

About a month ago, Theresa went into the ER for severe stomach pain. They gave her a CT scan and told her to follow up with her primary care because they saw fluid around her liver. Before her primary care got her in for another CT with contrast, she ended back up in the ER a couple of weeks later with, again, severe pain in her stomach. They did another CT scan and saw what looked like blood around her liver. They transported her that day to St. Joseph's Hospital, where they drained about 5 liters of blood from her stomach (which relieved her tremendously) but did an MRI, ultrasound, biopsy, and a bone scan. They kept her there for 5 days running tests. The results came back as cirrhosis of the liver and liver cancer. Those of you who know Theresa know she is not a drinker and maybe have seen her with a drink a handful of times. Currently, she is awaiting the results from the biopsy to see what stage she is in and has an appointment at MD Anderson on August 28th to create a plan to get her better. However, during this time, she has had to miss work and will be missing more. We are starting this to help Theresa be able to focus on getting herself better and alleviate any stress that will come with the extra bills this will bring, without having to worry if she is going to have to miss work.
