My name is Theo, and I’m 28 years old. I’ve always known I was a trans man. Growing up, I would ask why I had to be a girl and why I couldn’t be a boy. At 16, I came out as genderfluid because I was so scared of being different. In my early 20s, I tried to fit in by over-feminizing myself, which led to an eating disorder that nearly took my life. Thankfully, I was able to begin recovering during the pandemic, and in 2021, I finally came out as trans. I’ve now been on testosterone for a year and a half, and I’ve also been hitting the gym to help masculinize myself. This journey has taught me so much about resilience and self-acceptance.

I’m reaching out because I need help affording top surgery and covering my living expenses while I recover. I’ll be out of work for about a month and a half, and the thought of managing everything on my own is overwhelming. I’ve already accumulated a lot of medical debt, and this surgery is an important step for my well-being and future.

The funds raised will go directly toward my medical bills, rent, groceries, and caring for my two lovely kitties who depend on me. I also want to be able to pay my friend, who has kindly offered to take care of me during my recovery. Not long ago, I had a bigger support system, but unfortunately, that’s changed, and now it’s just me and my one friend trying to get through this together.
