Hi, my name is Theodosia, and I’m a single mom of two incredible kids. Recently, my life changed in an instant due to a car accident. As a result of the crash, I suffered spine fractures and was also diagnosed with conversion disorder. Right now, my legs are not functioning properly, and I am working to regain strength and mobility. I am currently admitted to a rehabilitation center, where I am undergoing intensive physical therapy to learn how to walk again. Doctors have indicated I may need to use a wheelchair for some time, and recovery could take weeks — or longer. I will also need follow-up therapy, treatment, and management for the rest of my life.
Just before this happened, I had started a new job and had only been there two days. Because of that, I do not qualify for benefits, and I don’t know when I will be physically able to return to work — even after completing rehab. As a single mother, this has been overwhelming in every way. My son is currently staying with his dad, and my daughter is staying with my father while I focus on medical treatment and rehabilitation. Being separated from them during this time has been one of the hardest parts of this journey.
I am asking for help to cover any treatment or ongoing therapy that insurance may not cover, as well as rent, utilities, groceries, essential living expenses, and lost wages while I recover. It is not easy for me to ask for help, but right now I truly need support to stay afloat while I focus on healing — physically and emotionally — so I can get back to my children and back to work. If you are able to donate, share, or simply keep us in your thoughts and prayers, it means more than I can express. Every bit of support helps lighten the weight during this incredibly difficult season. My goal is to focus fully on recovery so I can regain independence and provide stability for my children again. Thank you for reading, sharing, and standing with us. With gratitude, Theodosia
