Hannah Zarkowskyj and Family Need Our Help and Support

Up to a few months ago, Hannah and Peter Zarkowskyj could be found every weekend volunteering with the children's Sunday program for their local church. Their passion has been to help families with special needs children have a safe place to have their children loved and cared for. Together with their two sons Zachary and Harrison, the family of four have a strong faith and have been life-long helpers, always reaching out to volunteer and support others in need. It is what brings them joy.

Hannah has been with California Closets since 2012; she joined as a Designer and eventually became an Operator in Washington. She is now a member of the Franchise Operations team, working remotely from Atlanta.

For those who know her well, you understand the difficulty she faced agreeing to a GoFundMe, as she’s turned down previous offers. However, the family’s current medical situation has escalated. With extensive new complications for Zachary and with Peter’s progressing health challenges, they now need our help and support.

Her beloved Peter (they’ve been married nearly 30 years) was diagnosed in late 2024 with a rare type of leukemia. Sadly, his prognosis is poor, but his team of doctors say there is hope of survival with a bone marrow transplant, to be scheduled soon. Without one, he has no chance of survival.

Zachary has faced several challenges in the last few years. His most recent condition comes with numerous hospital appointments and expenses outside of insurance.

Hannah finds comfort and a sense of normalcy by continuing her focus on work and taking things one step at a time. Despite a positive attitude, this is an especially stressful time.

With few family members in the US (Hannah is from UK) and many unique and non-standard procedures, the treatment plan logistics have been challenging. The hospital is recommending full home sterilization for Peter’s optimal recovery, which is an extremely extensive and disruptive process. Additional financial support can alleviate stress and allow Hannah to focus on getting both Peter and Zachary to a healthier state; making decisions based on outcomes rather than costs.

They are grateful for any support you can provide, as well as prayers for their family. Peter and Hannah have strong faith and believe that faith and the support of friends will help them get through this difficult time.

Thank you for considering donating. In typical Hannah fashion, she has committed that with any remaining funds after the transplant, they will be donated to the FirstService Relief Fund to help others in need.
