Our baby girl Emily is only 14 months old, and she is already facing the fight of her life.
Emily has been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer — BCOR sarcoma with ITD. Hearing those words shattered our world. At an age where she should be learning to walk, laugh, and explore, Emily is instead enduring hospital stays, procedures, and intensive treatment.
She has already undergone major surgery, and she is now 4 rounds into a 14-round course of chemotherapy at Queensland Children’s Hospital. There is still a long road ahead.
Despite everything, Emily continues to show us what true strength looks like. She is full of love, adores cuddles, and lights up when she’s playing with her twin sister and her two big brothers, aged 3 and 5. Watching them together reminds us what we are fighting for every single day.
As parents, our only focus is giving Emily the best possible chance to recover. But the reality is, this journey comes with an enormous emotional and financial toll. One of us needs to be by Emily’s side at the hospital, while also caring for her siblings and trying to keep some sense of normal life for them.
We are facing:
• Ongoing medical and treatment-related expenses
• Travel and time spent at Queensland Children’s Hospital
• Time away from work and loss of income
• The everyday costs of supporting a family of four young children during a crisis
Asking for help is not easy, but right now, we could use it.
Any support you can give — whether it’s a donation or simply sharing Emily’s story — means more to us than we can put into words. It allows us to focus on what truly matters: being there for Emily, supporting her siblings, and holding our family together through this unimaginable time.
Thank you for taking the time to read Emily’s story, and for keeping her in your thoughts.
— With love and gratitude,
Emily’s family
