Honoring Devon Gordon Wong: A Brave and Beautiful Light
It is with profound sadness that we share the heartbreaking loss of Devon Wong, who passed away in a tragic accident involving water during a family camping trip over the Fourth of July weekend in Upstate New York.
Devon was a vibrant, curious, and loving little boy who brought joy to everyone he met. Though his time with us was short, he lived with boundless energy, wonder, and a spark that lit up every room. He loved pickles, soccer, trains, and animals. He never met a playground he didn’t want to conquer—or a person he didn’t try to make laugh.
Devon had a deep love for soccer and an incredible left foot. Whether playing and racing with his big brother and best friend, Sebastian, or cheering on his favorite teams, Chelsea FC and Man City, Devon was all in. He especially admired soccer stars Marc Cucurella, Kylian Mbappé, Lionel Messi, and Omar Mamoush. Watching matches, practicing his moves, and dreaming big, Devon's joy on the field mirrored his passion for life.
In his final act of selflessness, Devon became an organ donor, saving the lives of multiple children. His courage and love will live on—a powerful reminder of how he lived: full of heart, generosity, and joy.
We’re raising funds to support the Wong-Bailey family during this unimaginable time of grief. Donations will go directly toward:
• Memorial and medical expenses
• A permanent tribute to Devon at the WCS - Prospect Park Zoo and Boreum Hill Park.
• Support for Sebastian’s healing and wellbeing
Jen and Allan have spent their lives lifting others. Jen has empowered thousands of local artisans through the markets she leads with creativity and care. Allan has served the City of New York for over a decade, creating public programs and moments of magic in Central Park through the Conservancy. Their love for the community is constant—it’s now our turn to surround them with that same love.
Devon left an indelible mark on all those who knew him, and his light will continue to shine on. Any contribution—big or small—is deeply appreciated. Thank you for helping us to honor Devon’s legacy and support a family dealing with a heartbreaking loss.
