Today I am turning 25, and it also just happens to be WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY!
So instead of giving me flowers or presents I want to ask my family and friends to support these incredible brave women of the Amazon that are defending the Amazonian rainforest for all life on earth.
In Ecuador, violence and threats against indigenous women leaders defending their territories against oil exploitation has intensified while the oil frontier expands in the Amazon. In response to these attacks, indigenous women of different nationalities have organized and are working together demanding that their rights and territories affected are respected! There is still so much work to do!
