My name is Kristen Wolfe and I am fundraising on behalf of my family.

On February 24 of this year my family was struck with the news no family ever wants to hear; our dad has cancer. This quickly led to him being hospitalized on the 28th, my mom’s birthday, for what we all thought would be just a few days until his liver function could be restored enough to go home and pursue chemotherapy. Sadly, he remained in the hospital since that day and never became well enough to make any attempts at cancer treatment. My dad sadly passed away in hospice care on Wednesday evening, never to return to his home.

For the past 22 years, since my parents’ marriage, my dad was the main, and for the majority of the time, sole breadwinner of our family. Because he was so sick, he did not work for months prior to his passing. Faced with a lack of income and multitudes of imminent medical bills, my family is worried about how we will move forward. My dad was responsible for paying all expected household bills as well as helping pay for my education at Tuskegee University. Currently, with both parents having been out of work, our family is currently not receiving any income. We are concerned with how our family will keep up with expenses given that our family’s primary breadwinner has passed.

In my family’s time of need we ask graciously for your generosity as anything offered can make a difference. We ask not only for your monetary donations but for thoughts and prayers as well, and we thank you greatly in advance.
