On Sunday, July 6, 2025, the Withum family experienced an unimaginable loss. John Withum passed away peacefully at home at just 58 years old.

John was the kind of person you could always count on—steadfast, hardworking, and quietly full of heart. He dedicated over 20 years to his work as an Operations Manager with Johnson Controls, but above all, he was devoted to his family. He and his wife, Catherine, were married for 29 years and built a beautiful life together in East Brunswick with their three children: Gillian, Jacob, and Julia.

John loved nothing more than spending time with his family. Whether it was a simple weekend at home or a big family gathering, he was happiest surrounded by the people he loved. He never sought the spotlight—he simply showed up for everyone, every time.

John fought a courageous battle for a long time, facing every challenge with strength and determination. Through it all, he remained deeply devoted to his family and those who loved him.

We’ve started this fundraiser to support Catherine and the kids as they begin to navigate life without John. The funds will help cover memorial expenses as well as the many costs incurred during his lengthy illness, giving the family some breathing room as they adjust to this heartbreaking loss.
