I’ve initiated this Go Fund Me account on behalf of my daughter Bethany and her family. If you don’t know them, I’ll briefly introduce you to them. Bethany is a homeschooling mom of three children, ages 8, 6 and 4. Her husband Jordan is a middle school math teacher. They are a family of strong faith in Jesus and are very involved with their church. Their home is in Richfield, MN.

Bethany began having headaches during high school and they became more intense and frequent during her college years, which prompted a series of doctor visits, all indicating that she appeared to have no medical issues. Over the years, Bethany’s pain has progressed to body-wide muscle aches and joint pain in addition to the chronic headaches. She lives with these and maintains a very positive and humble attitude as she and Jordan are pursuing better answers and we all continue to ask God for her healing.

Since traditional medicine has offered little in the way of answers or treatment, Bethany began working with alternative health professionals a few years ago. After a lengthy series of appointments and tests, it was found that she had a very high level of mold in her system, as well as other various toxins, and she has been diagnosed with CIRS (Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome) with her system responding most severely to mold. We are all exposed to some level of mold on a nearly daily basis, but even the slightest amount of mold in the air causes Bethany’s body to respond in a way that is contributing to her chronic inflammation and pain.

They have already completed all they could on their own to eliminate mold exposure, such as disposal of all porous household items (including mattresses, pillows, carpet, some furniture and even some books and papers) and intense cleaning of all surfaces (including walls, shelving, etc.). In addition, Bethany has been on a strict diet, takes a number of supplements and has begun using more natural cleaning and personal hygiene products. As you can imagine, this has taken an incredible financial toll on the young family.

To date, Bethany has experienced inconsistent improvement in her symptoms. Through many connections with others who are going through similar situations, they have learned of a reputable company that does mold assessments and treatment. They hired the company to do an assessment and they have come back with their recommendations. The list is extensive and will involve actually tearing into walls and ceilings, redoing bathrooms, replacing insulation and repairing foundation/landscape grading issues. With great hope for a healthy future, they are moving forward with this process.

The cost is great and that is the purpose of this Go Fund Me. The total cost is about $35,000, so that is our goal. It's a lofty goal, but even small donations will help.
