***STATE LICENSED DAYCARES ARE NOT GETTING PAID FROM THE STATE!!!***
*******PLEASE SHARE*******
Good morning everyone!!
As most of you know, I own a state-licensed daycare called The Wild Ones
I don’t ask for help for myself, and really I’m not asking for help for myself right now. I am asking for help for these children so that I don’t have to CLOSE DOWN my daycare.
This will be a semi-long post, but I would appreciate if everyone could read and help out in whatever way you can!!
I have attached the link to the state address by Education Commissioner Karla Eslinger. I am also attaching a picture of the backlog, which is public knowledge; anybody can go and look it up.
What she doesn’t say about the backlog of subsidy payments is that it’ll be 100% cleared by the end of February for all the payments from September 2024 of last year and prior.
Then they will start working on all of the payments from October of 2024 to whenever.
I HAVE NOT BEEN PAID for state subsidy since October 2024. In October, I had 3 children on state subsidy, and by December, I had 5 of my 8 children on state subsidy.
I charge $120 a week for my kids. Nobody can live off $360 a week. So not getting paid for state subsidy since October has put a HUGE burden on my family.
Mark and I have maxed out all of our credit cards just to keep my daycare afloat.
I have had to turn away children with state subsidy pay because I cannot afford to watch any more children without payment.
Now it looks like I won’t get paid next month either since they are currently still working on the backlog from September 2024 and prior.
So if anybody could donate to keep my daycare afloat, I know that my family, my children, and especially me would be greatly appreciative!!!
According to Kehoe, anybody that donates to a daycare can use that as a tax deduction next year!!
For your reading pleasure, here is her state address…..

On a side note, I have talked with Mitch Boggs and his office about everything that is going on.
There is also an informal meeting this Thursday at the Capitol to talk to a few of the legislators about the current problem.
This is a link to the childcare data system page, and if you click on “current backlog,” you will see all the information you need.
