Chris has been accepted into IMMUNOCINE Cancer center in Cancun Mexico. Less then 20% of applicants are candidates and it is a gift that he is one. IMMUNOCINE has amazing statistics with Chris's specific type of cancer. The treatment is 6 weeks and the cost is significant. Just the treatment alone is $97,000 which has to be paid prior to his arrival and doesn't include room and board. The treatment is custom tailored to him and a vaccine will be made from a biopsy of his largest tumor which is on his Iliac Crest. Chris has been unable to continue his hormone therapy here due to extremely negative effects on his mental health and those treatments were the only thing that were keeping his cancer from growing. He has new cancer growth and his blood work is starting to show the effects of lack of treatment. We are asking for help to get Chris to Mexico. They are holding his spot for a week, but if we can't raise the money we will have to put off treatment until we can afford it which is very scary for us. We appreciate you all so much!

Hi, I'm Chris's wife Kelley. Chris was recently diagnosed with aggressive high volume stage 4b prostate cancer. While there is currently no cure for his cancer, there is treatment to help him feel better and extend his life. Chris has a rare issue associated with his cancer that weakens and fractures his bones. He has a fractured rib as well as other "spots" that are at risk for fracture including his C2 vertebrae and his femur. This obviously causes him pain and stress. His cancer is also castrate resistant which makes his case even more complex. Chris is scheduled to begin treatment on Friday April 5th at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix which would include two types of chemo given together, hormone therapy and possibly radiation. This treatment will take approximately 5 months if everything goes right. The side effects associated with this treatment are very scary and he will need me with him to help monitor and care for him. We have also sent his labs and imaging to a couple out of country clinics that have alternative therapies and access to other treatments that we don't have in the US in case the current treatment is ineffective. We are pursuing alternative therapies locally including a naturopathic doctor that can help him recover from chemo faster and keep him strong. If we end up leaving the country for treatment the cost would obviously grow exponentially. To add to all of this Chris recently hurt his knee and has been unable to get around at the pace that he likes. He is also unable to lift most things and do most household chores due to the threat to his bones. Chris and I have been married for over 25 years and have 7 amazing daughters, ages ranging from 8-24. I own and run two small businesses as well as help run my families plumbing company and Chris helps me at my shop and takes care of the kids and the house when I'm at work. I have had to reduce my hours at my businesses to care for him and get him to appointments. I will continue to have to take on a reduced role at my businesses which has a large financial impact to our family. One of my businesses is only 2 months old and is not financially stable enough to not have me be there, but the care that Chris receives and helping him get better is the only thing that matters to our family at this time. We are asking for help from our community so that worrying about money isn't another stress. Helping us would help cover medical costs, alternative therapies and travel costs associated with his treatment. It would also help us with day to day bills since my income is reduced. More then anything we need positive thoughts and prayers sent our way. For Chris and also for the kids and I who are heartbroken and scared. Chris is everything to our girls and I. He is a fighter and the strongest human that I know. He is absolutely the best Dad, partner and man and it's time for us all to take care of him and support him.
